How far open should my bottom vent be?
For normal low and slow cooking below 300° we recommend your bottom vent is open 1/3 to 1/2. For temperatures above 300° you may need to open your bottom vent further. If you find that your unit is closed most of the time, this means you have an air leak in your grill. Closing the bottom vent further can assist in compensating for aleak.
